Reason to Believe

Reason to Believe

In Reason to Believe,, Bruce Springsteen sings, At the end of every hard-earned day / people find some reason to believe. What’s your reason to believe?

I’ve always needed a reason to believe in myself
I just seemed so different from everyone else
What things do you see in me that I do not see?
I understand where you’re coming from but I do not agree
Why do you believe in me when I do not believe?
They say in this world there’s nothing you cannot achieve
I always feel like the boy picked last, left out so displeased
Like there was something I missed a chance I could’ve seized
At the end of the day my reason to believe is this
Don’t do anything that won’t make you smile when you reminisce

  1. Just because you don’t believe, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t believe. I am different too. 😉
And you’re my kind of different. ♥

  2. Wonderful reflection and a great ending to this poem. Love it.
